

This is a preliminary map for the Asheville 1:24,000 scale geologic map. The final version of this map is available here, as North Carolina Geological Survey Geologic Map Series (GMS) 14.
This multi-colored map of the Asheville 7.5-minute quadrangle includes a description of map units, stream sediment heavy mineral analysis, Schmidt equal area stereonet data, a list of prospects, quarries and sand resources, and two cross sections.
