This report is based on studies of the mica deposits in the Blue Ridge of North Carolina made between 1939 and 1962 by geologists of the US Geological Survey. This publication describes the geology of the region, as well as the economic aspects of pegmatite minerals. A majority of this report is composed of a summary description of mica mines and prospects in tabular form, divided by district, area, and county. Six map plates included. By F.G.
